Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening!
I just finished making a breakfast (eggs, homemade bread, sausage, coffee, fruit parfait... breakfast is my favorite) that I got to have with Joy and Chewbacca. Kirk is going to be at her parents for all of today until tomorrow morning! (Its kinda exciting when you have a little one that is... um... slightly needy to be sent away for a short time.) I slept in and read through the Sermon on the Mount and a little past that in Matthew.
Anyway. I thought perhaps you might be wondering what to do? I have no earthly idea what yall have been doing so... here are some things that I imagine you guys do and some other suggestions from me!
Situations A
Students! If you are at home and you have finished your homework and you are laying on the concrete looking at bugs crawl up grass because you have finished all responsibilities and your family is working and everything is done in your home... here are some things you can do!
-watch paint dry on a wall
-watch a single cloud float from one end of the sky to the other without blinking
-lay on the ground facing the ceiling of a room with a fan and see how long you can watch the fan blades spin around
-look at a fire detector that blinks and try and blink right before the light blinks to make it look like it doesn't blink
-count how many individual blinds you have in your house
-count how many freckles you have
-then give each one of the freckles a name
-watch your nails grow
-see if you can put your toes in your nose
Situation B
Students! If you are at home and you are doing homework, and preparing for the end of the world, and you are mowing and cleaning, and painting walls and repairing your home and riding horses and rock climbing and working out and learning martial arts and knitting and quilting and helping raise the children and learning a foreign language and shooting archery and building a garden and collecting eggs from chickens and preparing lunch and dinner for your families and learning how to make your own arrows and smelt your own bullets (my dad really does smelt bullets and makes arrows after he works out... its apparently a.. normal thing to do...?) and you are so tired at the end of the day you just don't know if you can go on any longer... here are some things you can do!
-laugh at the phrase "tired" like an evil maniac... because... you in fact do not get tired. what is tired? it is just a mindset... and you have conquered that. Mwaahahahahaha. ahem. anyway...
-Pick out 10 things that can fit in a bag you can take with you if the worst happens
-go over emergency plans with your family and where you would go and how you would survive if the economy is destroyed and money has no meaning and mad bands of suburban raiders scour the grocery stores and you are on your own
-learn how to start a fire with nothing but your willpower and strength
-as you are walking past members of your family just say the word "SURVIVE" in a really deep and intense way and if they look at you funny act like nothing happened.
-do 100 calf raises 100 pushups 100 situps 100 jumping jacks
-learn how to carve a stick into just about anything you can think of in less than 10 minutes
-tie your shoes only using one hand
-SURVIVE
Situation C
Students! If you are at home and you have finished watching the entirety of movies and shows on Disneyplus and Netflix and Hulu and Amazon Prime and you have read through your library at home and you have replayed every video game you own and board game as well and have even started to puzzle and have played legos for a indeterminate number of hours...and are even contemplating how to make a new game with your great grandpa's marble collection from the great depression that consists mostly of... rocks (I've been there... this might be a true story...) here are some things you can do!
-Do everything again... but... watch them all and play them all backwards...
-actually make a game using your great grandpa's marble collection from the great depression... its oddly enough fun...
-talk only in a accent all day. each new day is a different accent
-do not communicate with words for a full day
-never make eye contact with anyone
-never repeat the same story twice
-talk to your animals and then make voices for them for at least 30 minutes a day
-wear every single outfit you own at one time
-scream really loud and act like something terrible is wrong and when someone comes to you and asks "what is wrong?!" you reply with.. "sorry... I just wasn't getting enough attention..." (I don't recommend this one... and if you do this... the consequences are on your head... also... I would only do this once like... every 3 years.)
-Try sighing in like 100 different ways and catalogue them in a written list and name the different sighs and when is the best time to use them... sigh...ugh... arghhh… whaaahhhh.. uhhhhhh… noooooohhhhhhwwwhhhhh…
Situation D
Students! If you are at home and you have no earthly idea why in fact you are at home and you are walking around the halls of your home in utter puzzlement and bafflement about what and why and how and when and the huh of life... here are some things you can do!
-just... keep doing what you are doing. you are doing great...right?...I mean... I think so...wait...this isn't normal?...there is something going on in the world right now...?no... no... that is silly... waaaaaiiiitttttt. nope. absolutely silly...just keep on going...what? I am so confused...……………………………..ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh there is a...no everything is normal and fine....
Situation E
Students! If things are actually hard at your home and someone you know is sick or someone close to you is sick and needs help... here are some things you can do!
-ask your parents how to help
-pray and ask God what you can do to help
-be helpful all around
-learn how to be more helpful than you were yesterday
-teach others how to be more helpful
-learn how to make coffee and homemade biscuits and then bring them to your parents and tell them that you love them so much and are so thankful for being alive
-tell the Lord how grateful that you are alive
-tell a friend how grateful that they are alive
That's all I have for now for you guys! Stay encouraged. Be helpful! Families are a blessing and you need to be a blessing for them. Especially during times that are absolutely not the norm. Hope that you find something to do today! Love you all and praying for you and I will write again soon!
...or you could order 33 boxes of wood flooring and get that finished :)
